The Staff Infrastructure Engineer will own the systems that power growth at Polymarket—onboarding flows, referral systems, and user acquisition pipelines. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant autonomy. You'll design and maintain the infrastructure layer that enables the growth engineering team to move quickly without compromising stability or correctness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and maintain infrastructure supporting onboarding, referrals, and user acquisition pipelines
- Debug and own reliability incidents affecting growth surfaces end-to-end, preventing recurrence
- Review growth team pull requests for infrastructure soundness and scalability at higher traffic volumes
- Instrument data pipelines to surface bottlenecks and failure points before production impact
- Coordinate with growth engineering on hardening versus shipping velocity tradeoffs
- Establish standards and patterns that guide the growth team's infrastructure decisions
- Identify ambiguous systems between teams, define boundaries, and drive improvements independently
You'll need 7+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience with meaningful production ownership. You should have shipped systems under real user-growth pressure and be comfortable making judgment calls with minimal oversight. Proactive incident reduction, bottleneck identification, and strong instincts for velocity-versus-correctness tradeoffs are essential. Prior experience with growth-specific infrastructure (referral systems, onboarding, user acquisition) and small, high-autonomy engineering teams is a plus.
