Salary: USD 140,000 - 170,000 / annual
Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the energy and compute backbone for the world's most ambitious AI workloads. The Infrastructure Design Engineer will lead the planning, design, and implementation of data center whitespace environments—the operational computing areas where servers, storage, and network equipment are deployed.
You will own the end-to-end design of whitespace layouts, including rack placement, aisle configuration, equipment density, and airflow strategy. You'll collaborate closely with Facilities, Electrical, Mechanical, Network, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to ensure designs support high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include optimizing for capacity and energy efficiency, validating redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N) against SLA requirements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as TIA-942, Uptime Institute guidelines, and ASHRAE recommendations.
You will develop CAD/BIM drawings, 3D models, and schematics; create capacity planning models to forecast infrastructure scaling; and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. You'll support construction, installation, commissioning, and deployment of new data center environments, participate in design reviews and risk assessments, and conduct post-occupancy evaluations to validate outcomes and identify improvements. This role requires travel to data center sites as needed and involves evaluating emerging technologies and modular designs to continuously improve performance.
You bring 5+ years of data center design experience, preferably in cloud or hyperscale environments. You have deep understanding of power distribution systems, UPS architectures, cooling/HVAC infrastructure, and structured cabling systems. You're proficient in CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Visio) and knowledgeable about industry standards. You hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Data Center Engineering, or equivalent experience, and you thrive collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines while managing concurrent projects.
