Tanium is seeking a Staff Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to design, implement, and manage IAM and identity governance (IGA) solutions across the company's corporate infrastructure. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical scope and mentorship responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and manage comprehensive IAM/IGA solutions including single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged access management (PAM) across corporate infrastructure
- Build and maintain identity automation systems for employee onboarding, offboarding, entitlements management, and approval workflows
- Own the complete identity lifecycle: monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement
- Partner with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) teams to develop IAM/IGA policies and standards aligned with regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, FedRAMP, GDPR, HIPAA)
- Conduct regular security assessments of IAM systems, identify gaps, and ensure ongoing patch and policy compliance
- Lead technical delivery on IAM/IGA projects including system upgrades, migrations, and integrations
- Monitor system performance and identify optimization opportunities
- Respond to and resolve IAM-related incidents
- Mentor engineers across IT and Security teams; track industry trends to keep the IAM/IGA approach current
- Maintain comprehensive system design documentation
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 8–10 years of hands-on IAM and IGA experience
- Proven experience implementing and managing IGA platforms (SailPoint, Saviynt, Lumos, or similar)
- Deep expertise with Entra ID and Active Directory, particularly in hybrid environments
- Strong knowledge of identity lifecycle workflows, onboarding/offboarding standards
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
- Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, FedRAMP, GDPR, HIPAA)
- Experience with SSO, MFA, and PAM tooling
- IGA integration experience with HRIS systems (Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days per week in one of five office locations.
