Close is a bootstrapped, profitable CRM company founded in 2013 that helps sales teams sell faster with AI-powered automation. The company is 120 people, fully remote, and focused on serving small and scaling businesses. You will be Close's first Staff GTM Analyst, working alongside GTM leadership to answer consequential business questions that require deep data interrogation and business context. This is a hands-on role that bridges technical analytics and business strategy. Key responsibilities: - Make GTM data trustworthy by defining metrics, modeling the funnel from first touch through paid conversion, and reconciling discrepancies across Snowflake, Segment, Amplitude, GA4, and ad platforms - Investigate complex questions: Why are trials up while paid conversion isn't? Which channels drive volume but produce low-quality customers? Why are different systems disagreeing? - Help GTM leadership make data-driven decisions through forecasting, modeling tradeoffs, and scenario analysis - Own outcomes end-to-end, from uncovering data issues to shepherding the team to implementation - Define Close's next era of analytics by moving from reactive dashboards to proactive, AI-assisted insights where agents spot changes and deliver context to the right person You'll work closely with the Lead Analytics Engineer and cross-functional partners. The role emphasizes impact over output—a polished dashboard matters only if it changes what the company does. AI is reshaping analytics: you'll leverage AI for first-draft SQL and analysis while focusing your expertise on building semantic layers, guardrails, and self-service infrastructure that makes trustworthy analysis accessible to the entire team. REQUIREMENTS: - Approximately 8 years of hands-on, highly technical analytics experience with pattern recognition from solving complex problems - Fluency in GTM data: attribution, channel definitions, UTMs, tracking issues, and bot detection - Technical proficiency: ability to build models in dbt, work directly in Snowflake, and self-serve when needed - Strong bridge between technical and business: can translate data findings into actionable decisions and bring stakeholders along - Trusted cross-functional leader: teammates across functions listen to you and you immerse yourself in their context - Fiercely independent and accountable: comfortable with ambiguous asks, able to scope problems, identify dependencies, and drive work through to resolution - Comfort with AI tools in analytics and ability to push boundaries on what AI means for the function
