Midi Health is a fast-growing virtual care clinic specializing in women's health during midlife transitions—perimenopause, menopause, and hormonal changes. The company combines expert clinicians, evidence-based protocols, and modern technology to serve a historically underserved patient population.
As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical pillar within the engineering organization. This is a hands-on role where you'll drive complex technical decisions and shape the long-term architecture of Midi's healthcare platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze complex technical problems and lead architectural reviews across multiple teams to prevent technical debt and establish cross-service patterns
- Act as a "part-time product manager for technology," advocating for critical infrastructure upgrades that enable business velocity
- Craft scalable, thoughtful products and code, balancing speed with durability required in healthcare
- Shape engineering culture by establishing best practices for testing, CI/CD, and code quality across the full stack
- Architect elegant, flexible solutions that account for long-term scalability and business growth
- Partner with executive leadership, product, marketing, and clinical stakeholders to translate business goals into technical strategies
- Mentor senior and junior engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity and technical excellence
You bring 10+ years of experience building and scaling complex engineering solutions, with a proven track record of leading large-scale architectural migrations in startup environments. You have production experience with Django/DRF and React/Next.js or similar technologies. You're comfortable operating at high levels of abstraction, translating vague product goals into concrete technical roadmaps. You have versatile experience building consumer-facing products alongside deep expertise in operational and workflow management systems. You're a power-user of agentic coding tools and LLMs (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and help create respectful, low-ego team environments.
The role is hybrid: 2 days/week in-office (Monday and Thursday) in Palo Alto or San Francisco, 3 days remote. The company emphasizes AI-native engineering, expecting all engineers to be fluent with modern AI coding tools and to push the frontier of how software is built.
