Salary: USD 170,000 - 230,000 / annual

As Staff Frontend Engineer, you'll lead the architecture and evolution of user-facing experiences across Vetcove's platforms. You'll own critical frontend systems powering how veterinary professionals and millions of pet parents interact with products daily—from clinical workflows to patient care tools. This role transcends implementation: you'll define frontend strategy, establish best practices, and shape how applications scale in performance, usability, and maintainability.
Key responsibilities include architecting and delivering large-scale frontend applications across web and mobile; building and evolving high-performance React and React Native applications; defining and enforcing frontend best practices around performance optimization, accessibility, and maintainability; developing shared component libraries and design systems to improve team velocity; driving improvements in application performance, reliability, and user experience; partnering with product, design, and backend teams on cohesive, user-centered features; mentoring junior frontend engineers; and influencing technical direction across multiple product areas.
You'll work in a fully remote environment with a fast-moving team solving big challenges in a rapidly adopting industry. Engineers work across the stack with a holistic view of the platform, collaborating closely with users and influencing the product roadmap. The tech stack includes React, React Native, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python (Django), Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Clickhouse.
Required: 8+ years software engineering experience with strong frontend focus; deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (especially React); experience architecting and scaling complex frontend applications; strong understanding of performance optimization, state management, and frontend architecture patterns; experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries; proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers; strong communication and product-oriented mindset. Bachelor's degree required (CS or technical preferred). Mobile development experience (React Native) and familiarity with APIs/backend interactions (REST, GraphQL) are valued.
