Salary: USD 185,000 - 225,000 / annual
Future is building a personalized guidance system for lifelong health, combining AI, human expertise, personal health data, and accountability to help members improve performance and build long-term resilience.
You'll own the member-facing frontend experience at Future, shaping how members interact with coaches, track progress, and stay motivated. This is a high-impact individual contributor role on a small, senior team with direct influence over product decisions and no organizational layers between you and the work.
Key responsibilities:
**Product & Experience:** Own frontend architecture and implementation of core member-facing product. Partner closely with product and design to translate vision into polished, performant interfaces. Prioritize member experience details—load times, interaction feel, and the polish that makes an experience feel alive.
**Engineering Excellence:** Set standards for frontend code quality, component architecture, and design system usage. Build scalable code that future engineers can confidently extend and ship. Instrument the frontend for performance and reliability monitoring.
**AI Integration:** Use AI tools to accelerate prototyping, code review, and documentation. Bring perspective on weaving AI into the member experience—personalization, intelligent UI, adaptive coaching flows.
Required: 5+ years frontend engineering on consumer-facing mobile or web products. Deep expertise in React Native or React, TypeScript, and modern state management. Production experience with Next.js (App Router, SSR/CSR tradeoffs, caching). Strong design sensibility and ability to translate Figma designs into clean, accessible UI. Experience operating at Senior or Staff level in fast-moving startups. Proficiency with AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex).
Nice to have: Health/wellness app experience, Vercel or AWS deployment, monorepos (Turborepo/Nx), BFF patterns, strong testing practices, AI-powered product experience, mobile performance optimization at scale.
Compensation: $185,000–$225,000 base salary, meaningful early-stage equity (4-year vesting, 1-year cliff), comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), home office stipend, remote-first (continental US).
