fomo is a fast-growing crypto trading platform serving 2M+ users, backed by a $75M Series B from Index Ventures (with Union Square Ventures and Benchmark) at a $550M valuation. The company is scaling its engineering organization and investing in security and product capabilities.
You will own fomo's two primary app surfaces: a mobile app built with Expo and a web app built with React Router + Vite. You'll be joining a team of 8 engineers (3 frontend, 5 backend), all crypto-native with experience from leading protocols and platforms like dYdX, Uniswap, and OpenSea.
In the coming months, the team is planning to add new order types, expand into new asset classes (perpetuals, prediction markets), and deepen social features. Engineers at fomo are not siloed to frontend—you're encouraged to make changes across the stack where it makes sense, though this role is primarily frontend-focused.
The role is in-person in fomo's new Soho office in NYC. The company has a strong in-person culture.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and drive development of mobile and web app surfaces
- Execute on product roadmap autonomously
- Collaborate with backend engineers on cross-stack improvements
- Contribute to scaling the platform as it grows
Requirements:
- Staff+ level engineer with 6+ years of experience
- Deep understanding of React
- Ability to come up with and execute on plans autonomously
- Nice to have: crypto building experience (Solana or EVM preferred), full-stack capability (backend services are in TypeScript), AI-native development practices (most code at fomo is written by agentic tools), personal crypto trading experience
