Twilio is seeking a Staff Enterprise Security Engineer to lead the technical strategy for securing AI adoption across the enterprise. In this role, you will be a technical leader within the Enterprise Security team, responsible for establishing the foundational security posture and building decision infrastructure that enables the organization to innovate with AI at scale.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing secure reference architectures for enterprise AI platforms that protect data integrity, ensure regulatory compliance, and defend against emerging AI threats. You will establish a comprehensive framework for AI vetting, driving cultural and policy shifts to institutionalize security-first thinking across the organization. Working cross-functionally, you will develop the long-term roadmap for agentic AI identity and posture management, reducing organizational risk from AI agent deployment.
You will maintain and improve enterprise security posture through high-quality infrastructure code (Python, Go, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code practices. As a technical mentor, you will guide junior engineers and serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on the evolving AI security landscape.
Required qualifications include 7+ years of security engineering or infrastructure security experience, with 2+ years leading teams in a technical or staff engineering capacity at an enterprise. You must have expertise in cloud security (AWS, GCP) and container security (Kubernetes), a proven track record designing and deploying complex security systems at scale, and strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
Desired experience includes building and deploying automation for complex security workflows using both AI-driven and traditional tools, plus excellent communication skills to explain complex AI security risks to non-technical stakeholders. The role is fully remote within the US (excluding SF Bay Area), with occasional travel for team meetings and customer engagement.
