Graphcore, a leading AI compute innovator and member of the SoftBank Group, is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead post-silicon validation efforts for next-generation AI hyperscale systems. This role owns end-to-end blade and rack validation across the full product lifecycle, ensuring functional, electrical, and thermal performance meets objectives.
Key responsibilities include leading at-scale rack validation planning, development, and execution; driving provisioning and integration of system components (SoC firmware, BMC, RMC, OS) for rack-level readiness; owning execution against program milestones and reporting validation progress and risks; triaging test failures and collaborating on root cause analysis; tracking validation coverage and improving test processes; collaborating with ODM/JDM partners on validation and quality; and mentoring engineers to drive engineering excellence.
You will work cross-functionally with firmware, silicon, and systems engineering teams to validate complex AI compute platforms. The role requires deep expertise in large-scale hardware validation environments, CPU/GPU/memory/IO/firmware validation, Linux/server OS, and automation using Python/Bash. Knowledge of IPMI, Redfish, PLDM, and CI/CD pipelines is essential. Desirable qualifications include hyperscale environment experience, OpenBMC familiarity, firmware security knowledge, and HIL testing experience.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, with a proven track record in system, rack, or embedded validation with leadership experience. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining deep hardware validation expertise with mentorship and cross-team collaboration.
