This is the first dedicated platform engineering role at the company, positioned at the heart of operations. Key responsibilities include: - Owning and scaling cloud infrastructure (compute, networking, data layer) that powers the platform - Leading BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) initiatives to turn customer-cloud deployments into a scalable product with provisioning, upgrades, and observability - Operationalizing and productizing Infrastructure as Code and GitOps foundations to enable rapid shipping as the company scales - Establishing reliability as a product feature through meaningful SLOs and trustworthy incident processes - Leading the data layer strategy across Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, and ClickHouse at growing scale - Owning infrastructure security and compliance (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, enterprise security reviews) - Shaping roadmap and company strategy with high ownership of key decisions You bring 10+ years of staff-level experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles with proven ability to run high-traffic production systems. You have deep production Kubernetes expertise, experience operating software in environments you don't control (BYOC, single-tenant, on-prem, air-gapped), and deep AWS fluency with exposure to GCP and Azure. Terraform is your native working mode, and you have genuine database strength, especially Postgres (performance tuning, migrations under load, replication). You have real compliance exposure from SOC 2, ISO audits, pen tests, and security reviews. You combine a product mindset with developer empathy, can read customer issues and build fixes, and understand the TypeScript/Node stack. You're a strong communicator, proactive, reliable in remote-first environments, pragmatic, positive, low-ego, and startup-ready with autonomous ownership and ability to navigate ambiguity.
