Your mission is to make every engineer at Yotpo 10x more effective by reimagining the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will be a central driver in building intelligent platforms, automated golden paths, and AI-powered tools that fundamentally change how the organization builds software. This role offers massive, force-multiplying impact across the entire R&D and Product organizations, enabling hundreds of engineers to innovate faster and deliver with exceptional quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape the Software Factory: Act as a key thought leader in designing Yotpo's agentic workflows and loops that carry work from idea to production. Research, prototype, and build the agents, harnesses, and tools behind them. Define governance, controls, and standards that keep the factory predictable and safe at scale.
- Build the Platform Beneath It: Take a hands-on role in building and scaling shared infrastructure that every agentic workflow depends on—AI gateway, shared memory and context graphs, guardrails, and golden paths that abstract complexity away from teams.
- Make Quality Automatic: Turn standards into enforcement through automated gates in CI/CD pipelines, evaluations and guardrails for agent-generated work, and telemetry that measures whether the factory produces better outcomes. Quality, testing, security, and reliability become the default.
- Drive Adoption & Foster Community: Champion the tools you build through documentation, workshops, and internal advocacy. Mentor and guide builders across R&D and product globally, helping foster an AI-native culture.
- Cultivate Engineering Excellence: Raise the bar for how the organization builds. Set and evolve technical standards, review practices, and architectural principles that define engineering excellence at Yotpo.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record in a Staff, Principal, or architectural leadership role
- Strong architectural depth and experience shaping technical direction of complex, cross-team projects
- Hands-on experience researching, architecting, and building agentic workflows, autonomous systems, and AI-driven development loops
- Fluency in modern agentic platforms and developer tooling for full-stack engineering automation
- Deep expertise in designing distributed, composable, and extensible systems
- Strong understanding of modern development stacks, cloud-native patterns, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Strong hands-on skills with backend systems (Java, Node.js, Python, Go) and familiarity with frontend frameworks (React)
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills; ability to distill complexity and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent English (written and spoken) for working with global R&D sites
- Academic degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in a CTO Office, advanced R&D, or platform engineering team focused on developer experience
- Background in data science or data-science-centric projects
- Technical publications, open-source contributions, or speaking engagements
- Experience engaging directly with customers or working on products in enterprise SaaS environments
