Shield AI, a venture-backed defense-tech company, is seeking a Staff Equipment Engineer to lead the development, sustainment, and improvement of production equipment, test racks, and test cells supporting manufacturing and system-level testing. This is a highly hands-on role that works closely with Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Design Engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, implementation, and optimization of complex electromechanical equipment and test infrastructure
- Ensuring equipment reliability, scalability, and readiness for production environments
- Driving improvements across safety, uptime, and throughput metrics
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and system-level testing
- Troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Developing and implementing preventive maintenance strategies
- Contributing to capital equipment planning and procurement decisions
