Shield AI is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to lead critical manufacturing operations across multiple defense and aerospace programs. In this role, you will own end-to-end manufacturing processes with accountability for increasing throughput, reducing costs, and scaling production capacity. You'll spearhead the buildout of infrastructure for a new production line supporting a next-generation jet platform, including capital equipment selection and deployment, hardware and software tool implementation, and establishment of robust production systems and workflows. Key responsibilities include: - Taking technical ownership of manufacturing processes across multiple programs - Leading cross-functional initiatives with engineering, supply chain, and production teams - Designing and implementing new production line infrastructure and systems - Selecting, procuring, and deploying capital equipment - Establishing production metrics, quality standards, and operational procedures - Mentoring and developing other engineers on the manufacturing team - Ensuring smooth technology integration and operational scaling - Driving continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction You'll work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your technical leadership directly impacts the company's ability to scale production of advanced autonomous systems and aircraft. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking about manufacturing infrastructure and tactical execution at factory scale.
