Shield AI is seeking a Staff Integration & Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead final system integration and production readiness for complex aerospace and defense platforms. This role owns the successful integration of electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and mission systems into complete operational vehicles and assemblies, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and operational requirements.
You will work cross-functionally across engineering disciplines, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to drive production readiness from design handoff through first-unit production and beyond. Responsibilities include defining integration strategies, managing technical interfaces between subsystems, leading integration testing and validation, troubleshooting complex system-level issues, and establishing manufacturing processes that balance performance with producibility.
The ideal candidate brings broad multidisciplinary manufacturing and systems integration experience in aerospace, defense, or similarly complex hardware environments. You thrive in highly integrated production settings, excel at coordinating across functional teams, and have a track record of taking ownership of end-to-end integration challenges. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders are essential.
