Salary: USD 258,000 - 367,000 / annual

Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprises like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. As a Staff Engineer in Financial Products, you will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, shaping the architecture, design, and execution of critical systems powering Adyen's global financial offerings. You will work closely with engineering teams, product partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges at scale. Your responsibilities include scaling and expanding the foundation supporting all Adyen products, providing architectural and design leadership for the Financial Products offering, designing and building new financial rails as the company expands, mentoring engineers to uphold high standards of technical excellence, and driving a culture of continuous innovation. Required qualifications include 2+ years of experience in the financial industry (banking or fintech), 10+ years of hands-on development experience in modern engineering environments, technical leadership experience including mentoring and engineering strategy, hands-on experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, strong background in Java, a platform mindset to generalize complex processes into flexible services, proactive relationship-building with strong communication skills across cultures, and self-starter mentality to identify and solve problems independently.
