Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a Staff Engineer to join the Trading Engineering team in London. You'll work on the innovative heart of FBG's risk and trading domain, building and enhancing real-time systems that support sports betting operations and drive the broader Fanatics platform mission.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, high-performance solutions within event-driven architecture
- Analyze and address complex problems in multifaceted systems to improve performance and scalability
- Write efficient, modular, testable code adhering to quality standards
- Support the full product lifecycle from concept through deployment and operations
- Collaborate with Product, Quant, and Engineering teams to deliver stable, reliable applications
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing
- Enhance software quality through testability, operational metrics, and documentation
- Develop product-minded engineering perspective on the sports betting industry and roadmap
- Engage in mentorship and knowledge-sharing opportunities
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical operations
- Travel occasionally for offsite meetings and team collaboration
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years building and deploying scalable, high-performance applications
- 8+ years professional experience with C# and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Strong systems thinking and ability to tackle complex technical challenges
- Commitment to code quality, testing, and operational excellence
Fanatics Betting & Gaming operates the Fanatics Sportsbook (available to 95% of US addressable market), Fanatics Casino (Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia), and 22 retail betting locations. The team is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver, Leeds, and Dublin.
