Adyen is seeking a Staff Engineer for Customer Interfaces to lead the evolution of its financial platform from traditional dashboards into intelligent, conversational experiences powered by AI. In this role, you will architect and build agentic workflows and backend orchestration systems that transform natural language inputs into secure, authenticated financial operations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Drive Intelligent Experiences: Lead the development of next-generation conversational UIs and generative interfaces that adapt in real-time, creating streaming, multi-modal experiences that go beyond static dashboards.
• Bridge Architecture & Innovation: Serve as the primary technical liaison for AI initiatives, coordinating integration across teams and geographies while ensuring operational excellence and extensibility of intelligent modules.
• Zero-Trust Security for AI: Architect security layers for conversational interfaces, solving the unique challenge of maintaining strict financial data privacy and zero-trust principles while leveraging LLMs and advanced data processing.
• Product Strategy: Partner with product leadership to identify high-impact flows where intelligent automation can solve critical merchant problems, moving beyond implementation to strategic innovation.
• Full-Stack Ownership: Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle from backend services and data pipelines to frontend components, ensuring seamless integration across the stack.
• Global Technical Leadership: Mentor engineers and coordinate with global teams to establish technical standards that benefit the entire Adyen ecosystem.
You are a product-minded architect with deep experience building production-grade LLM-powered interfaces, including harnesses, policy enforcement, evals, and RAG architectures. You are proficient in Java for secure backend services and TypeScript/React/Vue for complex frontend applications. You bring a security-first mindset, particularly regarding sensitive financial data handling, and operate with entrepreneurial autonomy while collaborating effectively across large, global organizations.
