As a Staff Engineer in Cloud Security, you will develop containerized microservices for a distributed, multi-tenant system that processes real-time data, events, and network telemetry from multiple public clouds. Your work will provide customers with real-time insights, visibility, and security recommendations to identify and minimize cloud risk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and architect services, defend designs before peers, and deliver robust implementations
- Mentor junior engineers, new graduates, and interns to accelerate their growth
- Write primarily in Go, work with SQL-based data pipelines, and leverage Kubernetes for infrastructure
- Own critical features and subsystems across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements clarification through deployment and customer usage
- Own operational aspects of the system, understanding real-world challenges to write better, more supportable software
- Ensure code quality through early developer testing and functional/integration testing
- Partner with Product Management to refine requirements that exceed customer expectations
- Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder and peer interaction
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years building distributed and scalable software systems
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP at the API/programming level
- Experience delivering containerized services on Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Go and SQL
- REST API client experience
- General TCP/IP networking knowledge and Unix/Linux programming environment experience
- Networking and security controls experience is a plus
Desired skills include CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible. The role requires 5 on-site days per week at the Sunnyvale, CA headquarters. This position involves access to software subject to U.S. export controls.
