Graphcore, a leader in AI computing systems and member of the SoftBank Group, is establishing a new AI Engineering Campus in Bengaluru. This Staff-level role sits within the Post-Silicon Bringup team, part of the Architecture and Validation organization, and focuses on bringing cutting-edge AI chips and platforms to life.
You will lead the development of C/C++ code for silicon validation and bringup, working on bare-metal implementations for FPGA/emulator environments prior to first silicon arrival, then deploying and debugging configuration sequences on actual silicon. Key responsibilities include designing silicon bringup sequences, developing automated test frameworks and regression suites in Python, collaborating across disciplines to solve complex validation challenges, and providing technical mentorship to junior engineers.
The role requires deep expertise in bare-metal embedded C/C++, digital ASIC design, and post-silicon validation methodologies. You'll analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, contribute to shared test infrastructure, and provide architectural feedback. Desirable experience includes driver-level work with PCIe, Ethernet, memory technologies (LPDDR, DDR, HBM), and other peripherals; familiarity with mixed-signal blocks (PLLs, high-speed PHYs), ARM CPUs, AMBA protocols, and ML workloads is valued.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you architect improvements to test infrastructure and processes while remaining deeply involved in validation work. You'll work across multiple engineering teams to enable production software/firmware teams and silicon characterization efforts.
