Salary: USD 185,000 - 273,000 / annual
Motive is seeking a Staff Embedded Engineer to design and develop next-generation IoT platforms for fleet management and physical operations. You will work on cutting-edge firmware and software across Linux, Android, and real-time operating systems, focusing on high-performance embedded systems for edge computing.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing firmware for IoT platforms, debugging and optimizing code on multi-core architectures, creating automated testing frameworks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on architectural decisions. You'll validate features at scale using cloud-based analysis and engage with hardware, software, and business teams to build end-to-end solutions.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software development experience with deep expertise in Android OS and AOSP (Android Open Source Project), Linux, and embedded programming. Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and C++ is required. You should have hands-on experience with real-time operating systems and embedded Linux development. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent is expected.
This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in office. Motive serves nearly 100,000 customers across transportation, logistics, construction, energy, field service, manufacturing, and other industries, providing a unified platform for safety, operations, and fleet management.
