Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Electrical Harness Design Engineer to lead the electrical interconnect discipline across defense and aerospace programs. You will own the end-to-end design, fabrication, and integration of harness systems for rugged military and aerospace applications, working with advanced autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion platforms.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing harness systems to meet complex technical and environmental requirements; researching and selecting connectors, wire, shielding, and cable construction; developing harness block diagrams and wire diagrams for production release; and preparing assembly instructions and test procedures aligned with industry and MIL-STD standards. You will provide engineering guidance to cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, product, quality, compliance), participate in design reviews, and manage concurrent involvement across multiple projects at various stages.
You will work directly with harness manufacturers to ensure high quality and reliability, perform electrical trade studies for wire gauge and topology, analyze and mitigate risks such as voltage drop, crosstalk, EMI susceptibility, and thermal effects, and ensure designs meet system-level electrical requirements for voltage, current, bandwidth, redundancy, and EMI/EMC. The role requires deep expertise in electrical bus interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, MIL-STD-1553), SWaP optimization, and security clearance eligibility.
Required: Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; 12+ years hands-on harness design for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications; proficiency with electrical standards and MIL-STD requirements; and ability to read and generate wire diagrams and interconnect documentation. Preferred: experience with 3D CAD harness routing tools (NX Cabling, Siemens Capital, CATIA, CREO) and EMI/EMC expertise.
