CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as Unit Lead for the Phased Array product line, specifically focusing on Ka-band Active Electronically Steered Arrays (AESAs). This is a technical leadership role combining deep multi-disciplinary expertise with project execution accountability.
In this position, you will lead the design, development, integration, test, and flight qualification of advanced spaceborne payloads. The AESA systems are state-of-the-art electronics assemblies consisting of antenna element arrays, RF electronics, digital array control, and power conversion—engineered into a single optimized box using a modular approach.
As Unit Lead (Responsible Engineer), you will own both the technical definition and execution of new AESA products. This includes potential development of active antenna modules, RF and power/digital backplanes, array control and power conversion systems, and software features, culminating in a qualified, customer-ready product.
You will lead a multidisciplinary technical team, serve as the primary point of contact for the program manager, and often interface directly with customers. The role demands deep expertise across multiple electrical engineering domains combined with strong project management, leadership, and communication skills in a fast-paced startup environment.
CesiumAstro develops pioneering communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. The company emphasizes a dynamic, cross-functional work environment with hands-on, interactive, and autonomous work opportunities.
