Relativity Space is building advanced rockets and spacecraft systems to serve commercial and scientific missions. The Interplanetary Sciences Program aims to democratize deep space exploration by making planetary research faster, more affordable, and more capable.
As Staff Electrical Engineer, you will own the design, development, and qualification of next-generation deep space compute and storage systems. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing and building high-performance spacecraft electronics across compute modules, network switches, storage nodes, and communications terminals
- Balancing capability requirements (CPU, GPU, storage, network bandwidth) with spacecraft constraints (power, thermal, EMI, mechanical, reliability)
- Collaborating closely with science and software teams to maximize mission capability
- Leading hands-on development campaigns to evaluate key technologies, derisk interfaces, and validate performance
- Bringing up core software infrastructure on both spacecraft and ground systems
- Iterating with software teams to ensure full system operation across all environments
- Turning concepts into flight-ready hardware through rapid prototyping, early testing, and continuous learning
This is a high-responsibility, high-autonomy role in a fast-paced, iterative environment where you'll work across internal and external teams. You'll balance agility with rigor as you move from analysis to prototypes to production systems. The role offers significant technical scope and the opportunity to shape next-generation space exploration capabilities.
