Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to join the Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team in McHenry, Mississippi. This role is responsible for specifying, designing, developing, and installing instrumentation and data collection devices for solid rocket motor burn performance analysis. You will design custom electronic solutions including PCBs, firmware, and FPGA code required for manufacturing and testing solid rocket motors, with emphasis on safety-critical integrated designs. Key responsibilities include analyzing current equipment to identify inefficiencies and designing instrumentation to address gaps; collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to develop accurate, efficient equipment meeting safety and usability standards; designing and testing equipment prototypes with hands-on PCBA and electrical system component work; creating schematics and simulated models to validate designs against specifications and budget; overseeing implementation of new measuring devices and control systems to ensure proper installation and testing; serving as project engineer for design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing development; developing cable drawings for low-voltage interfaces; drafting and presenting formal technical documents and testing results; and providing training to employees and customers. Required qualifications include a minimum of 15 years' experience designing, developing, and installing sensors for system performance data collection; proficiency with NI LabVIEW, NI DAQmx, or equivalent COTS data acquisition systems; thorough understanding of signal conditioning for data acquisition and analog circuit design; intimate knowledge of analog-to-digital conversion and digital circuit design; ability to develop computer applications for data collection; expertise in sensor selection and placement for rocket motor performance metrics; strong applied mathematics and physics knowledge; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software; Python programming capability; and eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in engineering, experience with circuit simulation tools (SPICE), familiarity with EDA tools such as Altium or OrCAD, knowledge of real-time computer architectures and operating systems, and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
