Salary: USD 230,000 - 330,000 / annual

The company enables millions of users—from casual creators to Grammy winners—to generate and produce music using AI. We seek a Staff Detection & Response Engineer to design and own our security detection and incident response capabilities end-to-end. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for an experienced engineer who wants to build detection infrastructure from the ground up. Key responsibilities include: - Design and build the detection and telemetry pipeline, including logging coverage, detection stack, and data infrastructure - Write high-signal detections focused on critical attack paths: identity, access, cloud control plane, and data exfiltration - Build and own incident response processes: playbooks, on-call rotation, live response, and post-incident reviews - Partner with security and platform engineering to close telemetry gaps and instrument visibility - Establish detection-as-code and metrics-driven response standards - Develop detections for AI-specific abuse and emerging threat patterns - Leverage AI tools to augment your work and focus on critical priorities Required qualifications: - 6+ years in detection and response, including building detection capability and setting strategic direction (not just operating established systems) - Deep AWS-native detection expertise (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC flow logs, broader ecosystem) - Detection-as-code and engineering-first mindset - Calm, structured, and decisive incident response skills - Interest in detecting AI/ML abuse and novel attack patterns Nice-to-have experience includes consumer product at scale, early/founding detection hire background, and exposure to platform-abuse signals. Compensation: $230,000–$330,000 annually.
