Join Nutanix's Professional Services team as a Staff Consulting Architect focused on database platforms. You will design and implement cutting-edge database service platforms that integrate automation and virtualization technologies, serving as a technical leader within a collaborative, client-centric environment.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing database service platforms with automation and virtualization; leading and managing database migration projects with minimal downtime; overseeing the complete lifecycle of database services including backup, restore, scaling, and performance optimization; collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop integrated database solutions; establishing and documenting blueprints for consistent database provisioning; providing technical leadership and mentoring team members on database modernization and best practices; monitoring platform health and driving continuous improvement; and engaging directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
You will report to the Director of Professional Services in a hybrid role based in Bangalore, with approximately 15% travel to client locations for project kick-offs, deployments, and workshops. The role requires occasional in-office presence (minimum 3 days per week per Nutanix policy) to facilitate collaboration and client engagements, with flexibility for remote work based on project needs.
Required qualifications: 10+ years of database administration and infrastructure engineering experience; strong expertise in database lifecycle management, automation, and virtualization technologies; proficiency in database design, deployment, and migration for major RDBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL); experience with automation frameworks (API integration, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform); excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills; ability to collaborate across teams and lead database modernization initiatives. Preferred: relevant certifications in database management or virtualization; familiarity with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
