CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join its communication systems team. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.
In this role, you will serve as a technical leader and point of contact for communication programs, responsible for developing space architecture concepts and driving complex aerospace systems to success. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing space architecture concepts and sub-system designs
- Leading payload design and requirements development
- Conducting system analysis and requirements decomposition
- Designing high-level software and hardware system architectures
- Developing concepts of operations (CONOPS)
- Performing risk assessment and mitigation planning
- Coordinating activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Raising and resolving program-level technical issues
- Mentoring and guiding engineering teams on complex technical challenges
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering with demonstrated experience in space technology and aerospace systems. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment, be passionate about phased array technology for satellites and spacecraft, and have the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across functions.
This is a hands-on technical role that requires deep expertise in systems architecture, the ability to decompose complex problems, and strong communication skills to coordinate across engineering disciplines. You will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of leading-edge communication systems for space applications.
