CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Communication Systems Engineer to join their team developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. This is a hands-on technical role in a dynamic startup environment focused on phased array technology for aerospace applications. In this position, you will serve as a technical point of contact for communication programs, responsible for developing space architecture concepts, sub-system design, and payload design. Key responsibilities include requirements development and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment. You will coordinate activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams, raise and escalate issues at the program level, and drive complex programs to successful completion. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in systems engineering with demonstrated experience in space technology. You should be comfortable working in a startup environment, have deep technical expertise in phased array systems or related aerospace communications, and possess the ability to think strategically about system-level trade-offs and architecture decisions. This role requires someone who can work autonomously while collaborating effectively across engineering disciplines, and who is passionate about advancing leading-edge aerospace technology. Note: Due to U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
