Rubrik's Information Security organization is seeking a Staff Cloud Security Architect to serve as a critical subject matter expert responsible for defining, designing, and implementing secure cloud architectures across enterprise environments. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to integrate security across all aspects of cloud deployment, operations, and management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and implement cloud security architecture frameworks, principles, and guidelines for enterprise cloud environments and workloads
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and address security maturity initiatives
- Partner with cloud security architects, developers, and engineers to design scalable solutions for complex infrastructure security challenges
- Design, build proof-of-concept tools, and platforms to proactively address security issues at scale
- Conduct architecture reviews, security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis of cloud-native services and infrastructure
- Establish secure reference architectures, reusable cloud security patterns, standards, and best practices for consistency in cloud deployments
- Lead strategic planning and continuous improvement of cloud security capabilities, including public cloud native security products and third-party tools
- Partner with incident response teams and SOC analysts to ensure effective detection, investigation, and mitigation of cloud security incidents
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 15+ years of experience securing complex on-premises or cloud deployments
- Minimum 6+ years of dedicated cloud security architecture and design experience
- Significant hands-on experience across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure environments
- Deep technical understanding of core cloud service models (compute, network, storage, identity)
- Expertise in cloud-native security, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code security
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and cloud security standards
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
