We are seeking a Staff Chassis Systems Design Engineer to lead the design and development of our electric trailer chassis systems. In this role, you will own the technical architecture and engineering strategy for chassis subsystems, working across mechanical, electrical, and systems integration domains. You will mentor junior engineers, establish design standards and best practices, and drive innovation in lightweight, efficient chassis design for electric recreational vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, analysis, and optimization of chassis structures, suspension, and integration systems
- Developing and validating chassis performance specifications across safety, durability, and efficiency metrics
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including electrical systems, battery integration, and manufacturing
- Mentoring and guiding engineering team members on technical approaches and problem-solving
- Establishing design methodologies, CAD standards, and simulation/testing protocols
- Managing technical trade-offs between weight, cost, performance, and manufacturability
- Participating in design reviews and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards
