Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Staff CAD Platform Engineer to establish, maintain, and optimize the Siemens NX CAD environment that powers engineering and manufacturing teams. This is a technical leadership role focused on configuration, standardization, and continuous improvement of the NX and Teamcenter PLM ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize the Siemens NX CAD environment, including templates, customization files, role-based configurations, and default settings across the organization
- Administer NX installations, license servers, and Teamcenter PLM integration; manage version upgrades, patches, and deployments with minimal disruption
- Configure and maintain standardized part families, product configurators, drawing templates, and reusable component libraries to enforce design consistency
- Lead root cause investigations for recurring CAD/PLM issues; implement corrective and preventative actions
- Develop automation tools and scripts using NXOpen API, Knowledge Fusion, and related frameworks to streamline design and data management tasks
- Establish and enforce organization-wide CAD modeling and PLM data entry standards; create global drawing templates and custom user interfaces
- Provide technical leadership, structured training, and mentorship to engineering and design teams; serve as primary escalation point for NX issues
- Coordinate configuration and improvement projects across engineering, manufacturing, IT, quality, and external service providers
- Lead reliability, capability, and continuous improvement initiatives; quantify benefits and implement sustainable improvements
- Ensure compliance with security, quality, and regulatory standards; assess and mitigate operational and data-security risks
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years' experience in CAD administration or NX configuration in engineering or production environments
- Multi-skilled experience administering and configuring Siemens NX with advanced troubleshooting across CAD, CAM, and CAE
- Experience configuring NX templates, customization files, role-based settings, and standardized multi-user deployments
- Experience creating and maintaining part families, product configurators, and reusable component libraries
- Working knowledge of interpreting NX and system logs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD/PLM technical documentation
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, significant experience with NXOpen API and Knowledge Fusion, Teamcenter PLM administration experience, and ability to obtain U.S. Secret security clearance.
