You will join the Product Platform team in Edinburgh, responsible for building foundational components and cross-functional capabilities across the ecosystem. This is a Staff-level individual contributor role with significant technical leadership scope.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement critical API services powering the financial data ecosystem while modernizing architecture for European expansion
- Scale platform capabilities across diverse clients, regions, and geographies
- Build resilient, multi-region solutions that improve system performance and user experience
- Ensure architecture complies with European and international financial regulatory standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers
- Lead architecture designs and contribute to product roadmap creation
- Research and drive adoption of new technologies and best practices
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across the application stack
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
Required qualifications:
- Extensive professional software development experience, particularly building backend services
- Deep expertise in software design patterns, API design, and software development lifecycle
- Proven ability to influence technical direction and architect complex, distributed systems
- Strong understanding of REST, service-based architecture, and distributed systems
- Rapid learner with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Track record of mentoring engineers and collaborating with senior peers
- Professional experience with Java, SQL, and AWS
- Demonstrable knowledge of using AI in professional engineering environments
Desirable qualifications:
- Experience with Elasticsearch
- Background in financial industry or wealth management
