Salary: USD 195,000 - 265,000 / annual
Vibe.co is an audience-first streaming TV advertising platform that enables marketers to reach targeted audiences, optimize campaigns in real time, and measure business outcomes with precision. Recently acquired by Walmart in August 2026, Vibe now combines Walmart's first-party data and purchase signals with its platform capabilities, allowing advertisers to connect TV advertising to real-world transactions with unprecedented accuracy. The company serves over 12,000 brands reaching 120+ million households.
You will join the Integrations team as a Staff Backend Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The Integrations team owns all data flowing in and out of Vibe's platform: measurement and attribution integrations, audience connections from CRMs and CDPs, and reporting pipelines. This role is critical as Vibe builds its first-class Developer Platform, opening full platform capabilities as a public API for external partners (Criteo is the first live partner).
Key responsibilities include:
**Build and Ship Integrations**: Design and implement production-grade integrations with external platforms including CRMs, CDPs, measurement vendors, and data partners. Own integration projects end-to-end from scoping through production with full accountability. Work directly with external partners to define, validate, and evolve data contracts.
**Developer Platform**: Drive the architecture of Vibe's public API covering account, advertiser, and campaign management endpoints built to scale. Build documentation, monitoring, and tooling that delivers a genuinely good developer experience. Contribute to the MCP gateway and authentication layers exposing Vibe's capabilities externally.
**Reliability and Scale**: Identify weak points in existing pipelines and lead rebuilds. Set the standard for code quality on the team through impactful code reviews. Leverage AI tooling to accelerate your output and raise team capabilities.
**Technical Leadership**: Set engineering norms and technical direction as the Integrations team grows. Weigh in on architecture decisions across the team. Partner with the Engineering Manager on technical direction and hiring calibration.
As one of the most senior engineers on Integrations, you'll shape technical direction for a team still small enough for individual decisions to have outsized impact. You'll own foundational architecture for a platform external partners are already building against. AI-augmented development is the expectation here, not an experiment.

**Requirements:**
- 8+ years building production backend systems: APIs, data pipelines, distributed services at scale
- Strong TypeScript backend experience
- Direct ownership of a major project, start to finish (not just contributor role)
- AWS and Terraform experience with real architectural decision-making, not just implementation
- High-ownership background: startup, scale-up, or environment where you couldn't hand hard problems to someone else
**Nice to Haves:**
- Third-party integrations experience: ETL, webhooks, REST/GraphQL APIs
- Python, C++, or Rust alongside TypeScript work
- Experience designing or contributing to developer-facing platforms or public APIs
- Startup experience (~300 people or fewer), current or past
