fomo is a trading app designed for retail and experienced traders, offering instant on-chain asset access without external wallets or bridges. The platform combines social features—follow top traders with full portfolio visibility—with best-in-class execution and data.
You'll join a 9-person engineering team (4 frontend, 5 backend) of crypto-native engineers from leading protocols and platforms like dYdX, Uniswap, and OpenSea. The team maintains high technical standards and values autonomous, high-impact contributors.
As a Staff Backend Engineer, you'll work across the full stack of fomo's business: trade execution infrastructure, on-chain data ingestion and portfolio tracking, social network recommendation engines, analytics pipelines, and infrastructure scaling. The tech stack is primarily TypeScript/Go microservices with some Rust. While this is a backend-focused role, engineers are encouraged to contribute to frontend (React) when it makes sense.
You'll be expected to come up with and execute plans autonomously, with 6+ years of experience at a staff level. Crypto experience (Solana or EVM preferred) is essential. Full-stack capabilities and personal crypto trading experience are strong pluses—the team trades actively, which directly informs product differentiation.
The role is fully in-person in fomo's new Soho office in NYC. The company has a strong in-person culture.
