Relativity Space is building the Terran R rocket to deliver payloads to orbit using advanced 3D printing manufacturing techniques. The Avionics team owns the full lifecycle of the rocket's electrical control systems—from design through flight operations.
As a Staff Avionics Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead manufacturing strategy and execution for avionics hardware and wire harnesses. Your responsibilities include developing detailed process plans and work instructions, conducting Manufacturing Readiness Reviews to validate production readiness before major builds, and providing Design for Manufacturability feedback to design teams to optimize producibility.
You'll work directly with build technicians to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, resolve non-conformances, and implement corrective actions in real time. You'll partner with supply chain and quality teams to ensure procurement and inspection of high-reliability avionics components. You'll also analyze process performance and yield data to drive continuous improvement, develop capacity and demand planning models, and help shape Terran R's avionics architecture.
This is a high-ownership role embedded within a cross-functional team that includes propulsion, guidance/navigation/control, fluids, and stage engineering. You'll have significant autonomy to influence both the product and the manufacturing process at a critical inflection point—early enough to leave your mark, but far enough along that the rocket is tangible and accelerating toward flight.
