LucidLink is a file streaming platform used by 4,000+ companies (Adobe, Spotify, Warner Bros, Paramount) to provide instant cloud access to large files without downloads, syncing, or VPNs. The platform spans storage streaming, on-site acceleration, web/mobile access, and developer APIs with zero-knowledge security and enterprise governance.
As Staff Automation QA Engineer, you will lead LucidLink's transformation from manual, reactive QA to a strategic, automation-first model. Your mission is to close critical gaps in automation infrastructure (currently covering only happy-path scenarios) and establish technical governance across authentication, file systems, SDKs, and back-end infrastructure—the areas most critical to platform reliability.
Over 12–18 months, you will:
- Design and implement platform-wide automation strategy covering edge cases, failure modes, and cross-platform scenarios (desktop, mobile, web)
- Architect CI/CD-integrated automation that reduces flakiness, cuts execution time, and provides fast, trustworthy build-health signals
- Establish testing standards and quality metrics that drive org-wide prioritization and release decisions
- Increase release confidence and reduce late-cycle surprises through risk-based test planning and earlier quality signals
- Build toward AI-agent-supported testing over a 3–5 year horizon
You will be a hands-on builder who designs, pilots, and implements automation frameworks rather than delegating from a distance. You'll need deep technical grounding in distributed systems, authentication, file systems, and infrastructure to reason about complex cross-platform failures. You'll influence engineering practice across teams without direct authority, building credibility through clarity, data, and trust. You'll also mentor and coach QA and automation engineers embedded across distributed teams.
The role sits within a 230+ person team at a venture-backed company (Emmy Award-winning for engineering) headquartered in San Francisco with engineering offices in Sofia and remote employees across North America, Europe, and Australia. You'll work on problems that span low-level I/O, networking, operating systems, and user application behavior—challenges vastly different from web or regular application QA.
