F5 is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the enterprise-wide Technology Resilience program. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for orchestrating unified strategy across three core pillars: High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Data Protection (Backup). The successful candidate will be the single-threaded owner of the program, driving complex cross-functional initiatives from long-term strategy through execution and governance.
Key responsibilities include defining and owning the enterprise-wide Technology Resilience strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives. You will lead large-scale programs enhancing HA, DR, and Backup capabilities across on-premises and multi-cloud environments, serving as the primary thought leader guiding engineering and operations teams. You will establish and manage a holistic governance framework including policies, standards, and controls, ensuring resilience investments align with business criticality.
The role requires overseeing a comprehensive assurance program including HA failover testing, backup/restore validation, DR simulations, and tabletop exercises. You will analyze program data, test results, and industry trends to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation. Budget and vendor management responsibilities include managing the end-to-end program budget, forecasting, monthly tracking, and overseeing relationships with key third-party vendors for resilience technology and services.
You will act as the central point of communication for the Technology Resilience program, developing and presenting clear updates on program status, risks, and resilience posture to executive leadership and governance committees. Strong collaborative relationships with leaders across Application Development, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Business Units are essential.
Required qualifications include 10+ years of experience in technical program management, IT operations, or technology leadership with a proven track record managing large, complex enterprise programs. Deep understanding of Technology Resilience principles is essential, with expert-level knowledge in at least one core pillar (HA/Site Reliability, DR, or Enterprise Backup) and strong familiarity with others. Mastery of program and project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, PMP) and expertise with tools like Jira and Confluence are required. Demonstrated experience managing program budgets, developing business cases, and handling vendor negotiations is necessary. Exceptional ability to influence without authority and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences is critical. Strong experience with resilience patterns and services within major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is required. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
