Zscaler is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to design, scale, and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure for production AI/ML workloads. Reporting to the Senior Manager in IT Data Strategy, you will be responsible for building and evolving the AI platform that powers the company's security data lake and Zero Trust Exchange platform.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and build scalable, secure AWS infrastructure (EKS, Lambda, ECS, VPC, IAM) using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices, including reusable modules and environment-based blueprints.
• Own and evolve GitLab CI/CD pipelines for AI platform services, automating build, test, security scanning, and multi-environment deployments to enable fast, reliable releases.
• Architect a centralized observability stack using Prometheus and Grafana with golden-signal dashboards, design intelligent alerting strategies (Alertmanager, PagerDuty, OpsGenie), and lead incident response and root-cause analysis to improve MTTA/MTTR.
• Define and track DORA metrics to drive delivery and reliability improvements while building self-healing, auto-scaling, and cost-optimized infrastructure for AI/ML services including LLM inference, vector databases, and agent frameworks on Kubernetes.
• Implement infrastructure security best practices, establish platform governance standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through design and code reviews.
• Partner with AI/ML and data engineering teams on production-grade AI and RAG deployments.
