Brave is building independent search infrastructure for the AI era, offering a proprietary global web index with Zero-Data-Retention guarantees, unbiased ranking, and total sovereignty—differentiating from companies that wrap Bing or Google APIs. The Search API currently powers next-generation LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex.
This Senior Solutions Engineer role bridges Brave's engineering team and the developer market. You'll own technical sales conversations, run demos, build proof-of-concepts, and help customers integrate the Search API into their products. The role combines solutions engineering with developer-facing content creation and example code—not pure marketing, not community-only DevRel, but hands-on technical enablement.
Key responsibilities include supporting technical sales calls and discovery, creating demos and sample applications (notebooks, code examples) for search, RAG, LLM apps, and agents, helping prospects move from first API call to working integration, and identifying blockers. You'll improve sales and onboarding materials by creating technical guides, demo scripts, sample code, FAQs, and comparison docs. You'll bring customer feedback to Product and Engineering on missing features, confusing documentation, implementation issues, pricing, and competitive gaps. You'll also improve developer experience by simplifying docs, examples, API onboarding, and setup flows, and support integrations with tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Vercel AI SDK.
Required qualifications: technical sales experience with prospects, customers, or technical buyers; hands-on ability to read/write Python or JavaScript, test APIs with cURL or Postman, and build simple examples independently; understanding of RAG, LLMs, agents, context windows, and search APIs; developer credibility and empathy for API usability (docs, rate limits, error messages, onboarding friction); clear communication skills for technical writing and plain-language explanations; and strong internal follow-through to translate customer feedback into actionable insights.
Bonus experience includes sales engineering, solutions engineering, developer platforms, API products, search infrastructure, or AI tools; background at developer-focused companies like Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, HashiCorp, or LangChain; and familiarity with the AI builder ecosystem.
