Yubico, a publicly traded leader in identity security and creator of the YubiKey hardware-backed passkey, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Production and Fulfillment Services (PFS) team. This role focuses on designing and building the software systems that control YubiKey production, fulfillment, and manufacturing operations.
You will design, propose, and refactor applications and integrations that enable Windows desktop operators to leverage custom production equipment capabilities. Working collaboratively with Product Managers, Production, Hardware, and UX designers, you'll create user-friendly, streamlined software for operations teams. You'll experiment with prototypes, refine solutions based on user feedback and industry standards, and expand your technical knowledge of security technologies including FIDO2/WebAuthn, FIDO U2F, and PIV.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 5+ years of software engineering. You must have strong familiarity with operating system internals (synchronization, threading, file system access, logging), proven experience building system software in modern C++, C#, Rust, or .NET, and hands-on REST API integration experience. Knowledge of asymmetric cryptography and architecture/design principles is essential. You should be comfortable with AI tools (Claude, Codex, ChatGPT) and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Preferred qualifications include C/C++ library development, PostgreSQL experience, system-level services, OS API interaction (serial ports, block devices), and binary serialization protocols. Bonus skills include robotics software development and WPF/XAML with MVVM patterns.
