Reserv is an insurtech company building AI and automation technology to modernize claims processing. Founded by insurtech veterans and backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures, Reserv is automating highly manual tasks in claims to improve efficiency for TPAs, insurance technology providers, and adjusters.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep Python expertise to join our engineering team. You will design, build, and deploy production-ready software that powers our claims automation platform. This is a backend-focused role where you'll work on API design, data modeling, performance optimization, and security—while maintaining a user-centric mindset.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless product experiences. While your primary focus is backend development, you'll be expected to step into front-end (React/TypeScript) or infrastructure tasks when needed, whether debugging components, addressing security vulnerabilities, or optimizing CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Remote, but candidates must reside in an eligible U.S. state throughout employment. We are unable to hire candidates in California, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or outside the United States.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying production-ready software using Python (and frameworks such as Django)
- Familiarity or willingness to work with modern front-end technologies (React, TypeScript) when needed
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, reliable software
- Deep expertise in backend development: API design, data modeling, performance optimization, and security best practices
- Versatility and willingness to learn; comfortable stepping into front-end or infrastructure tasks
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams
