ClearGov is building the modern financial operating layer for the public sector, helping US local governments and school districts plan, budget, report, and communicate their finances with clarity and confidence. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Platform to join our engineering team as a senior full-stack technical contributor. In this role, you will design and deliver complex software features from concept to deployment across frontend, backend, database, and cloud services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop responsive frontend applications using Angular and React
- Build backend services and APIs using Node.js, Java, and Spring Boot
- Support data-intensive budgeting and reporting workflows
- Contribute to AI-enabled product capabilities, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic/vector search, embeddings, and prompt orchestration
- Apply AI-assisted software development practices
- Address technical debt and resolve production issues
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and peer code reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 10 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a SaaS environment
- Proficiency in Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, and Express
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases
- Strong knowledge of API design and integration
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, CodeRabbit, Greptile, or similar)
- Experience with RAG, vector search, embeddings, and prompt orchestration
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
