You will join the Incident Response team as a Senior Software Engineer, working on a product that customers rely on during active emergencies to declare incidents, assess impact, assign tasks, and coordinate organizational response. The platform must perform reliably under load and handle graceful degradation when dependencies fail.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Design and develop features for the AlertMedia Incident Response product
- Build systems that remain correct and predictable during live emergencies and under high load
- Learn the AlertMedia platform, tools, and customer usage patterns
- Work across Python, Django, Next.js, React, Node, and related web technologies
- Leverage AI-enabled tools (Claude, Codex, and emerging platforms) to support development, problem-solving, documentation, and productivity
- Collaborate in an Agile environment using Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack
- Contribute architectural innovations to maintain AlertMedia's technology advantage
- Communicate effectively with engineering and product teams
- Contribute to company culture, values, and vision

Location: This role is remote within Mexico, with an optional Mexico City office (Reforma area) for in-person collaboration with the engineering team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field (preferred)
- 6+ years of experience building scalable web applications
- Proficiency with Python/Django/React/Node tech stack (preferred)
- Experience with Linux-based containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Amazon Web Services or other cloud services experience (required)
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and other storage technologies (required)
- Established practice of writing unit and integration tests
- Proficiency with AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, or similar) across the development lifecycle
- Collaborative mindset to partner with principal engineers and leadership on architectural evolution
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple parallel projects
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, challenging environments
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong English proficiency (written and oral) required
- Legal right to work in Mexico without sponsorship (AlertMedia does not sponsor)
