ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with full-stack expertise to design, build, and operate production systems spanning backend services, frontend experiences, and data pipelines. You will work across the entire technology stack, from customer-facing interfaces to high-throughput distributed systems, with increasing focus on AI-driven capabilities and agentic workflows.
In this role, you will:
- Design and build full-stack capabilities including backend services in Java and Python, REST APIs, and frontend components using ReactJS or Angular
- Deploy, scale, and troubleshoot services on Kubernetes in production environments
- Develop and operate distributed, high-throughput systems for data ingestion, streaming, and storage, including Kafka-based pipelines and ClickHouse data stores
- Design and integrate AI-powered features and agentic workflows into products, applying LLMs, retrieval mechanisms, and agent frameworks to solve customer problems
- Own quality end-to-end: instrumentation, observability, testing, and performance optimization at scale
- Partner with product management, design, and engineering teams to move features from concept through production
- Participate in design and code reviews, raising the technical bar across the team

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems
- Backend proficiency in both Java and Python with hands-on REST API design and implementation
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization (Docker), including production deployment and operations
- Demonstrated experience designing distributed systems with focus on scalability, fault tolerance, and messaging/streaming (e.g., Kafka)
- Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of AI/ML: building with LLMs, AI agents, MCP, or agentic frameworks in production or product contexts
- Frontend skills in ReactJS or Angular with JavaScript/TypeScript and solid HTML/CSS fundamentals (desired)
- Working knowledge of data stores and pipelines, including streaming systems like Kafka; ClickHouse experience is a plus
- Familiarity with CI/CD and cloud-native development practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with bias toward ownership and action
- Experience leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
