Hinge Health is the leader in digital physical therapy and is expanding into new therapeutic areas. Following the launch of a migraine product line and the acquisition of Cylinder Health, the company is building a new gastrointestinal (GI) product line from scratch. The GI market represents a $135B opportunity in the US alone, affecting 60M+ Americans.
As a Senior Software Engineer for GI, you will be a core member of a new product team building a comprehensive end-to-end digital care experience. You'll work across the full technology stack—including React Native, full-stack web, GraphQL, AI agents, and computer vision—to define and launch a brand new product that millions of Americans will access through their healthcare plans.
In your first three months, you'll contribute to defining the GI product from scratch, deliver at least one large project introducing new capabilities, and act as a maintainer for key code repositories. You'll break down complex problems, exhibit strong user and business judgment, and communicate technical ideas clearly to cross-functional partners.
By six months, you'll have implemented key GI product functionalities with high quality and performance. You'll independently drive 3+ high-complexity projects, implement engineering best practices (CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, performance optimization), and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pairing.
Within your first year, you'll have launched the new product and begun iterating based on real member feedback. You'll drive cross-team initiatives to improve the end-to-end user journey and continuously raise engineering standards across testing, observability, reliability, accessibility, and performance.
You are a 0-to-1 builder with a track record of shipping brand new products from scratch. You move fast, balance innovation with pragmatism, and deliver clear business results. You're hands-on across the tech stack, use AI-driven development techniques (including AI agents), and think in terms of hypotheses and experimentation. You mentor and collaborate effectively, take ownership of problems from idea through launch and measurement, and foster inclusive team cultures where engineers do their best work.
