Forescout is a cybersecurity company protecting critical infrastructure for Fortune 100 organizations, government agencies, and large enterprises. This Senior Software Engineer role supports the development of complex software systems in regulated U.S. federal environments, specifically FedRAMP-compliant systems.
You will lead the design and development of sophisticated full-stack software features, writing clean, efficient, and scalable code while mentoring junior engineers. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, performing code reviews to ensure quality and reliability, debugging complex technical issues, and contributing to architectural decisions that ensure system scalability and maintainability.
Required qualifications: U.S. citizenship (mandatory for FedRAMP environments), bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, 7+ years writing production Java code for backend development, and 2+ years experience with front-end technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript). You must also have 2+ years developing and integrating Azure services including Azure Data Explorer, Event Grid, Event Hub, Service Bus, and CosmosDB.
Core competencies include proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, C#), advanced knowledge of data structures and design patterns, expertise in distributed systems and microservices, hands-on containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible), and deep understanding of databases, caching, and API design. Experience with observability tools, LLM/AI agents, and production debugging is expected.
