Hims & Hers, a NYSE-traded health and wellness platform, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Customer Platform group. This role focuses on designing and implementing scalable, high-performance full-stack solutions that power hims.com and forhers.com, directly impacting patient acquisition, engagement, and satisfaction.
You will lead the design and architecture of customer-facing web experiences, collaborating across engineering, product, design, medical, marketing, and analytics teams. Key responsibilities include providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, advocating for team technical priorities, and participating in product discovery to assess feasibility and validate ideas. You'll work closely with UX/UI designers to create intuitive interfaces, ensure seamless integration across engineering teams, and contribute to the platform's technical vision by identifying strategic technology investments.
Your technical leadership will extend to implementing observability practices (logging, monitoring, alerting), elevating engineering standards through process improvements, and analyzing performance metrics to drive optimization. You'll conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and assist in hiring and onboarding. The role requires balancing curiosity with decisive action, understanding developer needs deeply, and managing ambiguous cross-team priorities independently.
Required: 5+ years shipping production code, 3+ years backend distributed systems design, 3+ years microservice architecture experience. Strong full-stack proficiency in TypeScript with React frontend and Node.js backend. Proven track record building scalable systems other teams depend on. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with agile/CI-CD/testing expertise.
Preferred: NextJS and NestJS experience, background building developer frameworks or tools, web performance optimization, Kubernetes/AWS/DevOps familiarity.
