Dialpad is an AI-powered customer experience platform that combines AI agents with human agents on a single platform to resolve customer issues in real time across voice and digital channels. The company serves market-leading brands including Netflix, Motorola Solutions, and Randstad, and is backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and GV.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Developer Platform team, you will lead the design and development of the APIs, events, and frameworks that enable external developers to build integrations and plugins for Dialpad. This platform is central to scaling Dialpad's integration ecosystem and ensuring third-party developers have robust tools to create seamless customer experiences.
You will own core components within the Developer Platform, including backend public APIs, event frameworks, frontend plugin frameworks, and client libraries. Working closely with the technical product manager, you'll translate developer workflows and business needs into high-quality, scalable technical solutions. You'll help shape the 6-12 month technical direction for the platform, break down complex requirements into actionable deliverables, and solve technical challenges through shared tools and patterns.
Key responsibilities include owning the full development lifecycle of public APIs and platform features from design through production monitoring, collaborating with product managers and external developer stakeholders to identify and translate needs into solutions, mentoring other engineers through design and code reviews, and contributing to the long-term technical direction and architecture of the developer platform.
You'll operate with significant autonomy, make pragmatic business and technical trade-offs, and mentor teammates through design, implementation, code review, and production support. This position reports to the Developer Platform Director and requires a hybrid working arrangement based in the Vancouver office.
