SingleStore is a cloud-native distributed SQL database platform that unifies transactional and analytical workloads at scale. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Managed Service (Helios) team, you will own release-defining projects spanning distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, and database technology.
Helios operates thousands of SingleStore clusters across AWS, Azure, and GCP, autonomously deployed and scaled on Kubernetes. You will work across the control plane, data plane, operator, networking, storage, and customer portal with true end-to-end ownership.
Key responsibilities include leading complex cross-functional technical initiatives from conception to production deployment, working closely with product managers, designers, and customers to deliver high-quality experiences. You will drive engineering standards, champion best practices in system design, code quality, testing, observability, and CI/CD pipelines. You'll solve mission-critical system problems with scalable, maintainable, and resilient solutions.
You will mentor junior team members, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to process improvements while raising the technical bar across the team. Clear communication of complex technical decisions and their impact on system performance, reliability, and business outcomes is essential. Cross-functional partnership with Sales, Marketing, and G&A teams supports product delivery and customer success.
Required experience includes 5+ years developing and debugging system-level software in languages like Golang or TypeScript, with strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud services. You should have a track record of leading non-trivial projects from design through production rollout, navigating ambiguity effectively. Strong communication skills, passion for mentoring, and ability to execute efficiently in fast-paced environments are critical. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience required.
Preferred qualifications include experience building cloud-native SaaS platforms, working with frontend frameworks like React, and prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.
